Do you use overlay widgets?

Never. An overlay sits on top of the page and leaves the underlying code unchanged, so the barriers a screen reader hits are still there. The FTC brought a $1 million enforcement action against an overlay vendor in 2025 over claims that it could make any website WCAG compliant. We implement permanent, code-level fixes only.

Do government entities have deadlines?

Yes. Under the DOJ's ADA Title II rule, public entities serving 50,000 or more people must conform by April 2027; smaller entities and special districts by April 2028. We recommend starting well ahead: remediation takes longer than most teams expect.
